Dr Philip Bliss (1787-1857) was an antiquary and editor. He was on the staff of the Bodleian Library from 1808 to about 1813, and 1822-28. He was Registrar of the University of Oxford (1824-53), Keeper of the Archives (1826-57), and Principal of St. Mary Hall (from 1848 until his death in 1857).
